Alternate Assisted Living Manager, Other Staff Initial and Annual Training
Maryland requires every assisted living staff member, not just managers, to complete orientation and ongoing training so residents get care that fits their needs. Our Other Staff Training helps your team meet these requirements and helps your program stay ready for a survey.
Initial Training (within 120 days of hire) and Annual Training requirements
New staff must complete training in:
Fire and life safety, including how to use a fire extinguisher
Infection control: standard and contact precautions, and hand hygiene
Basic food safety
Emergency and disaster plans
First aid, renewed every two years
CPR with a hands-on component, for enough staff that someone certified is on site 24/7
